Microsoft Space Utilization Maps

The Real Estate and Facilities group creates and manages detailed facility maps for development and reporting.

The Challenge

Senior leadership at Microsoft RE&F requested a solution to allow space and facilities managers to easily leverage the power of Business Intelligence in space management reporting.

The Solution

Our solution was to leverage Microsoft’s PowerBI as the data visualization vehicle, and couple that with floor plates specifically crafted to join with a wide variety of user data sources to provide meaningful context.

A catalog of plates was created for every floor in Microsoft’s portfolio and made accessible to users via an RE&F SharePoint portal.

The tools and processes for the upkeep of this catalog were delivered with this effort, as well as end user documentation and training videos.
